    Changed my 29er gearing from 32/20 to 32/18 What a difference , bring on the suffering.

    it's nice on the flats, but definitely brings the suffering when it starts going up.

    x2. Tried the 18T but settled on a 19T.

    The effort involved to get the 18T up a climb was not > the benefit for me.

    Only on a 26'r here but running a 32/18 (closer to your 32/20). Does great up the climbs but spins out on the flats/downhills. Made it a little difficult to hang witht he geared boys when the trail smoothed out or dropped but I was right back with them on the climbs some how. Still haven't decided if I am going to swap or not. May just pick up a cheapy bmx 16t freewheel from Dans and give it a shot later in the season when I am in better shape.
