    Inexpensive single chainring

Hey everyone, last night I was cleaning my bike and realized that there are significant signs of wear on my chainring. It is a Race Face Narrow Wide that I installed when I originally went 1x10. I want to replace it but I am having some trouble looking for an inexpensive option, I know I don't need the NW profile so I remember seeing a Race Face ring on Jenson for about 20. Obviously, now that I need it, they are gone, so, what are my choices for an inexpensive, singlespeed specific ring, that might be less expensive than a NW (about $38 online). Ebay is out of the question given the shipping arrangements that I have to do (live outside the US).

Since it's singlespeed, you should be able to get away with any chainring you want. You're not looking for chain retention like you did with 1x10. If you're using something in the 32-34T range, I would probably go for steel if you can find it though. It'll last longer.

Yup, I agree, but I would like to avoid using a geared chainring for the looks of it. I have an old deore middle chainring that is in good condition, but having something SS specific, with no ramps whatsoever, is appealing to me... Am I looking for a problem not yet created?

You can always flip the chainring around if the teeth are only worn on one side.

Thing is, you can get RF rings for <32 shipped on ebay. That's kind of hard to beat unless you're willing to go ramped/pinned.

FSA DH rings if they fit. Nice high teeth and no ramps. They work well and are of the harder aluminum variety.

Surly stainless steel chainrings are only $30 and will last a lot longer than aluminum.

I use FSA DH aluminium rings and truvativ singlespeed steel rings - they are the cheapest I can get and work well too

I've been on Blackspire SS and DH rings for years. They work. I'm sure other products that have been mentioned are just fine too.
