Bonking ... not feelin' well I fall down!

Blew a jump. Landed weird. Slid out. I hit the dirt. Bike hit the tree. I am fine. Wheel is not. Walked out to where Sparty could pick me up.
And, yes, I was wearing my helmet.

    Wavy wheel

Glad you came out better than the wheel. Look at the bright side the wavy wheel now matches the wavy rotor. Now if only you were the wheel expert instead of tire expert, you could go home and select any of dozens lying around to replace it.

... and if we just ... After a fall....

After a fall, adjust your glasses. They look like they slid down your nose. Good thing you were warning your helmet.

    Glad you are OK....

Would you like some Salsa to go with that Taco?????

Wheels can be replaced, replacing Shiggy would be impossible.

A few turns of the spoke wrench that'll be good as new

Yeah.. there's a point where you can't ride out on a wheel even with discs...

    Glad to hear you're ok.

Man - I'd say that looks like a Taco SUPREME! Did the rest of the bike survive? If you did all that damage to just a wheel and you are ok (well as ok as the Shig-a-meister can be) you're doing good. But from your second picture you may want to see a doctor - you look pretty bruised and swolen from what I remember you looking like when we road in KY!

Note to self - if Shiggy slid out on Panaracer Fire FR 2.4's - I don't need them.... (lol - just kidding).

Did Sparty get to see the event or was he in front of you?

Get that Green Machine up and running soon!

Not sure. It could have been either. I landed front first and it dug in a bit. May have tweaked a bit on landing and a lot against the tree.

I had two "spare" wheels to choose from. Picked the anno blue rim, gold nipples, half silver/half black spokes on a boring black Deore hub. I already have the rim (4 actually) to rebuild with, just need new spokes. Going to be building a second full (UST) wheel set soon, too.

No other damage at all. Swapped wheels and I rode the bike today. I just have a couple of scratches and bruises. The ground was very soft. No rocks, no sticks.

The landing is off camber AND on a curve. I blew the approach.

Sparty was standing right beside the trail. Saw it all perfectly.

dayamn Shig, you got big ears. Sorry to hear about the wheel and crash but glad you survived. I got squirrely on a drop this weekend. I pulled an x-up and just never brought the wheel back around. That pic of yours just brought back an almost traumatic memory!

"Taco" and "just a little truing" jokes aside...

Damn Shiggy! I've heard about foldable frames but wheels? I must have missed the announcement. Glad to hear you're okay though.
