    horizontal dropouts - chain tension

I am converting a 1980 something rock hopper to a ss and it has horizontal dropouts. I dont need a chain tensioner for horizontal dropouts...right? Also, do they make a chain tug drvice for these forward facing dropouts? Can i use quick release with it?

    Correct.

    Not needed.

    Should work.

and love it. Converted it last fall and I find myself riding it more than my geared fully. It's a great frame; triple butted tange tubes. I filed out the drops for more adjustment and use a qr that holds the wheel nicely. Good luck with your conversion.
