    HI there SSers:-)

I recently got a GT traffic 5.0 and I am pleased with it. I need your input on the quality of the bike and if the money was worth it. I got a bit of buyers remorse since the wheels give me some issues. They are alex z1000s and i know they are cheap, but so easily to bend is kinda funny. Is the bike worth it? The brake levers are caca, the wheels seems to be too, the crank and hubs seems to be fine. I come from a Cannondale F5, Diamond Back BMX, Raleigh 7 speed hybrid. Thank you for you input.

Are you actually pleased with the bike or not? Avid FR-5s and having the LBS get your wheels evenly tensioned is pretty inexpensive and then you would have solved your problems.

I am pleased with the single speed aspect and the riding position. Its very rigid and that is a bit of an issues but I think I will be fine.

For $400, the Traffic is a great around the town commuter bike. if you bought it from REI or your LBS they should have trued the wheels for you. Take it back and have them fix it, then ride it!

It looks thinner so you think that it isn't as strong?

It's a SS urban commuter bike. You aren't going to be doing 4 foot drops on it. Its a good bike for what it was made to do. If the bike shop trued the wheels and inspected the rims it should be fine. If you really just can't get over the thin wheels then just return it and get a mountain bike. Those work fine on pavement too.

If you can't return it and you actually do like it, then shut up and just ride it. If it breaks, get it fixed. Don't overthink it.
    I see hills.

    I want to climb them.
