    Help a SS newb out.

I converted my old Gary Fisher Mt Tam bike to a single speed last week.

I am runnign 32-16 gears and a new SRAM PC-1 chain.
It's tensioned by a Surly Singleator.

My chainline is straight, however, I am getting this annoying KERCHUNK every 3'rd pedal stroke. It only happens when the bike is under load, if I am just cruisin' ot doesn't do it.

    Whats going on here?

tight link? double check your chainline. measure it, eyes are deceiving.
everything sucks but my vacuum cleaner.

Chainlines are fairly easy to eyeball so I'm going with the tight link theory. You can sometimes locate them by watching the small chain and slowly freewheeling backward until you see the link that doesn't want to conform to the radius of the sprocket.

    i'd guees cog/hub or chain.

every third crank...check the chain for a stuck link or the removable link not on right?

is it the original hub? spacers and the cog with enough space to tightened down?

SS freewheels make that sound when the prawls slip, especially under load right after coasting, but that's probably not your problem.
