    Help with gearing

I'm building my first dedicated Single Speed, a Niner One 9 with a rigid carbon fork. I'm 230 pounds, ride every day and put in around 2200 trail miles over the last year. I ride in Northern Louisiana and out trails are twisty with poor flow and lots of steep, short climbs.

    What's a good starting gearing?

I run 32 x19 and it seems pretty much in the middle. Loads of steep trails here.
Suicide by single speed. Work in progress.

i'd go bigger out of the gate, the steepest gear you can climb your biggest hill. surprising what you grind up if it's a short climb, as opposed to sustained climbing. 34x18 or something approaching 2:1.
