    GT Peace or Dawes Bullseye

Looking for a cheap way into trying ss riding, mostly for the winter in the snow. I see Nashbar has the GT Peace for $399, minus 10% off coupon, but they charge for shipping (anyone know what they charge to ship a bike).Looks like it would net out to $400

Or there's the Dawes Bullseye, $349, free shpping from Bike Direct.

Is one a better deal? The Dawes has Avid brakes vs Tekro's on the GT, and I love my BB7, so BB5 shouldn't be that much of a step down.

Other components, I'm not sure about. And what about the frame, the GT looks a little nicer, but hard to compare and worthwhile spec's.

    Thanx's for the help,

then again I am partial because I own 2..lol.

Seriously though, the GT frame is a very nice frame and the components are decent.

Got to agree.. I ordered one from another site, it is brown. I was going to go for the bullseye and I would have if it had better components. If the Peace would have not been available, I think I would have ordered a Bullseye.

I love my Peace. The bike rips. It's a little heavy, but it's money well spent.

That's about the only real con that people tell me is the weight. But if I want a 20lb SS...it will cost WAY more than $300-$400 ya know.

A new rigid fork is money well spent. The original is a tank.
