    GT Palomar Frame

Anyone ever converted a pre '00 GT Palomar into a good SS?

and how much including shipping would you be willing to pay for a great condition steel palomar?

and what is the headtube size 1" ot 1 1/8th?

I found one I like, but the shipping is too high IMHO, and it is hard to tell in thepic if it is 1" or 1 1/8th" headtube

how is the quality of the steel used in this frame?

is this a very heavy frame?

    its a tank

but it would make a good derby bike or a decent ss. its high tensile steel so there's not much chance you're going to make it a featherweight. not certain about the ht but its the exact same frame (the 99 or 2k) that gt tossed a cheap suspension fork onto and sold as teh "saddleback" so I'd assume its 1 1/8. not sure what Id pay for it, it would depend what you wanted to do with it. if youre planning on throwing a bunch of hi end bits at it, start with a different frame. if you just want a beater or derby bike, might be worth it but keep in mind the bike was 200 or less new.
