Going Singlespeed. what do i need?

im sick of running gears. it skips around too much. my derailer is falling apart, and i dont feel like spending a lot of money to buy a new one and still have problems. i usually only ride one gear anyways.

so what do i need to go singlespeed? i know i need a tensioner and the spacers to replace the other gears from the cassette.

what tensioner would you recommend to me? i ride pretty rough dh trails and dont want something to fall apart on me. i do have a budget, but if its good, i may get it. ive heard good things about the yess tensioner and the paul tensioner. so those are an option.

plus i get to shed some weight of the shifter and other things i wont need.

The yess etr-v is probably one of the better ones. Remove the unwanted chainrings also, but buy some shorter chainring bolts. A dedicated SS cog is also recommended.

    That's about it.

Then go ride it, take some pics and tell us all about it.
    I see hills.

    I want to climb them.

We don't quit riding because we get old.

im going with the shimano alfine tensioner. it may not be the best, but its better than what i have now for a derailer. and im going with the gusset single speed conversion kit. it comes with 16T and 18T cogs, so i have a choice of gearing.

ill post up pics when i get it in. it should be nice. im just too sick of skipping gears...
