    gear ratio for toronto

    im planning to build a single speed bike and i live in toronto, i does any one have a good sugesstion for a fast ratio with a big front sprocket? i wont be doing any hills at all really, and i want to be able to go fast

    depending on how strong you are 46:16 to a lower 44:20 would probably work out for you. i would say start on the higher side because in most places in t.o. there isnt really any really big hills. personally i would use 44/46:16

    in london (ont) i have 52:17 on the roadie (i know.... i don't want to hear it) and 34:15 on the mtb.
