Furnace Creek 508 is this weekend

They have a cool online magazine:

    http://www.adventurecorps.com/downlo...005racemag.PDF

SS content: There are only two fixies slated to ride this year. H'wood took some shots at the start last year. Anyone have a link?

yeah I headed over to the start last year since it was fairly close to my home. I think I'll pass this year. I did run in to Barley at the Phil Wood booth in Vegas. Nice guy, works for CamelBak, had a Sycip fixie built just for this race.

At PW I also met "Dr. Mojo" who was gathering sponsors for his own fixed ride that makes the 508 look like a ride down to 7-11 for some chips n beer.

    Bump....

My uncle and some other old cronies did the 508 again this year.
Highlights : 2 Fixies, 1 Male, 1 Female. Both finished with the Lady coming in 1st between the 2 by 40 minutes or something like that.
Tinker Juarez (Riding gears (Big puss )) finished 2nd overall in something like 27 Hours with an average speed of ohhhhhhhhh, like 19 MPH! - Freeeeeks!
The first 9 across the line all broke the existing course record.

    - I'm thinkin' they're ALL on drugs. Or insane. Or both.
