    Smile Full Time SS now

So I was riding with a friend yesterday who rides SS all the time. I was on this bike setup 1x9 32:36. I got to talking more about his SS setup and why he does not care for gears (we do not see each other very much). He simply said "I have more important things to worry about then gears." So that got me thinking about all the momentum I loose when shifting to easier gears for a hill, when I could just keep pumping, I could just as easily stay in the same gear and go but I do have a 420g cassette on this bike which added some weight, plus a derailleur and shifter.

So this is is what I got so far, I actually had everything for it so no additional parts needed. However I need the tensioner to go out further and these seems only possible by a spacer. Anyone done anything like this? My kit I got from someone on this site did not come with that if its suppose to.

    Thanks for reading.

EDIT: I am aware my bike has a EBB but I did not have the parts to do this nor could I see the hex wrench spot to loose it so I just used what I had for now.

Just did some weight weenie looking.

    Weight lost:
    Cassette: 420g
    Shifters: 522g
    Rear der: 235g
    Front der: 165g
    Total: 1342g = 2.95lbs!

Rather suprised on how much weight I shaved for next to nothing.

FYI: The 2009 29'er 2 has a BB30 bottom bracket, not an EBB bottom bracket. The only 2009 C'dale 29'er with an EBB was the 29'34 3 1FG.

Just saw your x-post in the C'dale forum. I see you know that it's BB30.
