    Fixie Movie

As much as I hate calling "fixies" "fixies", it fits this movie. My plan is to buy up as many Bianchi (Super) Pista frames, NJS drop bars, plaid top tube pads and messenger bags, then sell them for 1,500% profit after the release of this movie.

I'll wait till it's in the $5 bargain bin and then still think thrice about buying it.

    Looks a lot goofy.

Interesting. So is anyone else amused by the trials stunts being done on fixies? And that somehow a bunch of bike messengers bring down a crime syndicate (let's be honest...the dude isn't going to die and he'll definitely come out on top in the end)?

    I might go watch it...might.

Pnut- I will start buying the skinny jeans and cutting them off at the knee. We can open up a web retailer and make millions!

    haha that looks ridiculous.

So fixies will go out of style after this movie comes out, become 'mainstream' for a bout 6 months - a year, and then it can go back to being just a fun way to get around without having stereotypes associated with it

Just so we're all clear, I'm going to see this movie. I saw Fast&Furious on opening weekends (yeah, all 5), XXX, Transporter, etc. For some reason, I'm drawn to main stream action movies with garbage plots and unrealistic stunts.

And as of last week, I have in my possession a Bianchi Pista Concept. This thing will be worth millions. But I'm keeping it in hopes of the city of Draper keeping their promise and building a velodrome.

Nope, it's going to get much larger. The hipsters are already moving away from fixed gears into awkward road bikes with STI shifters mounted on bullhorn bars.

For those into imports and car racing, that scene is still suffering the effects of The Fast and the Furious almost a decade after its release. Street racing was always dangerous but back in the day you could get away with it on country highways and backroads, then everyone wanted a piece and people started getting hurt and bringing negative attention to the scene. Then the street racers began autocrossing, drifting, and running time trials.

I'm just going to stay positive as it'll bring a lot of *******s into the bike scene but that means more bikes on the road leading to better bike infrastructure.

Oh yes, but did you watch from 1:00-1:20 I wouldn't call those hammers tho-

(from a blog I like to frequent)

Interbike was a blast this year. Once the dust settled and I could look through all my photos, it dawned on me: fixed gears and track bikes have really changed the face of the cycling industry. I know that's a bit ambitious to say but I really do think that track bikes made it "cool" to ride bicycles and the trickle down effect has taken hold of the cycling industry.

Really tho your not just the unfortunate, homeless, DUI, broke person because your on a bike.
Not that's what all people think but you have a large car/gas/fat driven population not to mention your "interweb" media driven ants P-nut,

I honestly trip out on people on this forum that talk about going over the bars for the first time, Like REALLY how old are you????
