    first SS win

Did my first single speed race a couple of weekends ago. Managed to pick up a win but than again, there were only three of us in the race. I normally race expert with my gearie but this was a short track format and since the ss race was scheduled for 20 min and the expert race for 40 min. I figured that if I was going to drive all of the way there, I might as well get my money's worth. As you can see, my bike is a bit of a mongrel, I have it set up so that I can easily switch from ss to gearie by just replacing the cassette with a cog and spacers and taking a few links out of the chain (via sram powerlinks). It seemed to work out pretty well and the bike worked perfectly as a ss and skipped all over the place during the expert race because of a couple of nasty mud holes.

SS races here are usually sparsely attended so I probably won't make the switch to full time SS racing but it was fun and hopefully I'll be able to do more...
