Finally broke down and got a 29'r.

Now I just need to build it up. Ordered a Stans/King wheelset and XTR cranks so far.

I'll probably cheese out and run BB7's...or maybe some shag carpet-like Hope's.

    That's pretty swanky.
If you use BB7s consider using brake lines like Aztec Powerlines. Lighter and really improve the feel of mechanical brakes.

That Frame deserves better than BB7s

Nice frame, the new Shimano XT's are going for only 129 a side at performance bike. I hear good things about them. Hopes and Formulas are great but probably 6 to 700 bucks both sides once you got rotors

Who cares how much gas you save, ride your bike to work because it's fun!!!!!!!

    Thanks.

I found a brand new complete set of Magura Marta SL Magnesium disc brakes w/ rotors on eBay for $395 shipped . They're even more shaggariffic than the Hopes .

    I've already ordered everything .

This was a seemingly quick build since the frame comes with the fork, headset, seatpost and clamp already.

    .
I already like it . I've been admiring the frameset for a while now.

I've made fun of every one of my friends w/ a 29'r so many times that I almost couldn't buy one myself . Almost couldn't .

I've been beating my 26" Bianchi WUSS for five years straight at the Tyler State Park in East Texas and am anxious now to try this thing out there, too...see if a 29'r really makes you a snappier dresser .

I finally got to pick the frame up yesterday from Fedex and actually see it for the first time .

Yes, the chain tug set up is...well, very...low tech . Looks like it could be a pain to set up, but we'll see.

Yep, me, too . I live about a half hour away, so I rarely go anywhere else. I've been riding it SS on my 26'r w/ 32/15 gearing, so I may try 32/17 on the 29'r .

    Looks nice man.

I also came from a 26" Bianchi. The poor Bianchi now sits in the garage 99% of the time. Enjoy!

Hahahaha, that was not quite the most accurate thing I've ever said. Three months later and this bike is still winning...and I don't mean on the trails .

It still sits a virgin on the stand, waiting for a few bits here and there. I rolled it down the driveway to get a correct fit to cut the steerer tube, but other than that I can't comment on the ride just yet .

I took my 26'r SS out today and abused it...saying goodbye is always hard .

    Here She Is...

I finally finished her...well, almost...just waiting on some special star nut for the carbon steer tube.

    Your brakes are backwards.

Well, they are if you're shipping it to me to ride.
Authorities speculate that speed may have been a factor. They are also holding gravity and inertia for questioning.

I like it, lots. Nice aesthetics and the mix of black red and white is on the money. Gold accents keep it from being boring.

Nice work, that looks great and I'm not even a Specialized fan. Thumbs up from Grumps!

Thanks for the kind words...and jabs . I don't have a final weight on it...I imagine right at 19 lbs or so. I'll take it by the bike shop and see next time I go.
