Do you have any pictures of the lockring in question?
read KNOBBY MEATS or be sadly ignorant of the mediocrity that is allowed to exist in the interwebs

Unfortunately I have no camera at hand. I think I'll take it to the shop tomorrow to get it sawed in pieces or something..

If it is a standard splined lockring:

Flat head screwdriver. With the wheel in the frame, wedge the screwdriver into the teeth on the lockring (This works best if you have horizontal dropouts, and put the screwdriver in between the dropouts). Rotate wheel such that screwdriver hits the frame. hold screwdriver in place and apply pressure to the pedals until it starts to turn.

If it is an "external" lockring that threads onto the outside of the cassette body (ala redline) then this won't work.
