    EBB singlespeeds?

I've been out of the loop for a while with bike tech and trying to get up to speed. I'm noticing that almost no manufacturers offer EBB frames anymore, in favor of combo horz./derailleur dropouts (Surly, On-One) or replaceable drop-outs (Salsa, others). Is this just the new flavor of the time period or have EBBs been deemed an inferior design that nobody wants?

I have a 2004 Inbred EBB SS 26er frame that I'm considering selling (don't ride it much anymore) in favor of a frame that can run SS and geared, 29er and be a bit more versatile. I'm trying to figure out what I may be able to get for it.

    Thanks!
    Ventana El Rey - 3x9
Schwinn High Plains w/ drop bars - 3x8
    Surly Ogre - Alfine 8/SS

Every tensioning systems has its pros and cons...

That said, EBBs are still around. Soul Cycles, Jones, Niner use them.

Also OS Blackbuck. I personally love EBB's, but tolerance levels of the BB is much much less than other tensioner types. I have had zero problems with the EBB's currently in my stable.

Get an Inbred 29er if you liked your 26er version. They're a bargain and great riding frames.

I have a Singular Swift and have never had a problem with their EBB. I just don't know if you can purchase one in the states anymore since Marty decided to close up shop and move on.

I think he was just comparing it to other EBB units, not Niner's old ones.
