    ebb question

    so some times at slow speed uphill grunts i get a creaking poping noise from my ebb any idead. it is on a xxix if that helps..http://www.raleighusa.com/bikes/mountain/xxix-11/

    remove it. clean it. grease it copiously. repeat in 6 months (3 months?)...

    Could also try wrapping it in a thin layer of teflon tape. I've never tried it myself but have heard that it works.

    also torque it to spec. very important. my bushnell is 8-10nm iirc.

    just cleaned and regreased it this weekend. hadn't touched it in 9 months.

    While your greasing your EBB, be sure to take your pedals off and grease the threads there too, Funky noises can come from odd ball places when your cranking on the SS on a uphill.
