    dropout modification

Hello everyone! I am a long time lurker, first time poster. I was curious to know if any of you guys and gals could tell me if there are any outfits that could replace dropouts on a geared frame (vertical dropouts) with some single speed dropouts, specifically Paul's horizontals? Thanks for the info in advance.

I would think that you need to be more specific. I dont know the answer, but I do imagine that it will vary depending on the frame material. Whats your frame made of?

any good builder can do that for you if your frame is steel. Spicer cycles would be a good place to start.

    oops

I wasn't very specific, was I? The frame in question is a mongoose steel frame from the pre-Brunswick/Pacific era. It's a decent frame but I wanted to know about how much modification would cost to see if it would be cost effective. I am currently using an old Suntour derailleur for a tensioner; and it works fine; but the Paul's dropouts would be the thang, I think.

    Eno eccentric hub

Money would be better spent on an ENO hub and new wheel.
    IMHO
It will cost you about 100 plus the dropouts to convert
    I've been inside too long.
