    Double Hex SS Chainring Bolts

    Looking for some steel double hex SS Chainring Bolts for a XT crank (not with the little slot on the back that strips). Anyone know of a source? having trouble locating one. thx....

    FSA makes alloy bolts that are hex on one side and T-30 torx on the other.

    I know you said steel, but I have a working theory about alloy bolts being a good safety valve in a singlespeed drive train. I've sheared alloy bolts before when a large stick, etc got jammed between the chain and ring or cog. I was thankful the bolts sheared - if they had been steel the chain or something more expensive (freehub?) might have been damaged first. I carry alloy bolts are in the spares kit in my Camelback...

    Look for Truvativ chainring bolts. They are double hex. Like here Truvativ Steel Chainring Bolts at BikeTiresDirect

    Raybum, you ever find some shorter SS chainring bolts with 2 sided hex or torx ?

    no reason to run anything but the SRAMs
