... and if we just ... Does THIS look familiar???

Guess what showed up on my front porch?
Yep, it was found, somewhat MODIFIED. Certainly an exercise in how NOT to mount H-bars. I'm pretty happy its back, but the new paint job has got to go. The front brakes are toast, probably out of fluid as the hoses look pretty bad. The Cannondale seatpost is gone and so is the nice Specialized BG seat. OH! and my Time ATAC Z pedals are gone too. the front tire is pumped up to about 50psi (imagine a 3" gazzi that hard).

A friend found it down by a park in the really poor part of town (that baseball park that we drive by on the way to the Harmonic convergence) and when nobody showed up to claim it he picked it up and brought it back to me.

    But the BrewSSki its BACK!!!

    Time ATAC's gone?

I wonder how long it took the thieves to figure out how to remove ATAC's??? Glad you got your bike back. The only way it would have been better is if you had stolen it back!

    Whoo-Hooo!

    Bob-
Great News, Bob! I know how much you like that ride, and I can't wait to see you riding it again up here, at Stella or down in Orygun.
I guess you can take it down to Bend and have Wade's partner put a superfine paint job on it for you now.
Hope you get the parts and your back sorted out soon.

    Nice!

Glad your prodigal bike has returned! I'd been keeping my eye out around Portland, just in case it found its way down here. Sorry for the loss of some nice parts, but the BREW is back! Nice.

About the H-bars ... not surprising, when you remember the tendency of homeless guys to mess with the intended mounting of handlebars. Look at all the old ten speeds with the drop bars flipped up.

(Coincidentally, one of my wife's classmates also had a BREW stolen a few months ago, although she wasn't so lucky to find it again).

pains me to no end to see that fugly saddle on this bike, and to imagine some bike illiterate [email protected] riding it.

edit: check the thomson stem for overtorque cracks...

I've got a Coda seat post..... (spam)

I've got a Coda suspension post -- I figure that's what was taken off the bike? -- that I don't use anymore and might consider selling it if you're interested. It's in great shape, I only used it for about a year. Just let me know..... [email protected]
