gee - what a bunch of old ladies!

I have some great (fuzzy) memories from riding while half in the bag. It's probably a bad idea to try something new and/or especially dangerous, but other than that, why not? Bikes are good, beer is good, life is good. Many of those folks seem to have an overly-puritanical sense of what fun should be.

That would be weird, riding after drinking. I don't even think I've done that when I was young and stupid - always a subway train or bus to take me home back then. Call me an old lady but riding should be the high, not something to do while high.

Clear your mind, your a$$ will follow.

Why drink? It would ruin the experience.

I don't drink alky-hol at all, so I'm partial. But tea is great. A good green tea like Dragon Pearls or Genmaicha is excellent, as is Imperial Red Chinese. White tea is nice in the summer, with a light flavor thats's good to chill and put in a water bottle.

I wouldn't do it in the street or on open trails, but it sure is hell is fun in a confined area. Nothing like a batch of screwdrivers in you camelback with some friends on a college campus on a warm spring friday night

    eh.

i don't drink before or during rides that often, mostly because i'm not fit enough to grind up some of my usual climbs on a hot day with a belly full of Mickey's Premium Malt Liquor, but i wouldn't bedgrudge others if it works for them. on flatter rides or urban, i've gone out a little loopy... it's fun

i thought the one guy's comment about how he wouldn't drink during a ride, but would blaze up was funny. i haven't ridden stoned in years, but i'm pretty sure i'd fare no better after sparkin' one than poundin' one.

    pub crawl

I don't mind a good pub crawl on a bike. We take sidewalks or bike paths so we're not mixing it up with traffic. I'd say that's a lot safer, but then aosty looped a wheelie drop on one of the last rides and limped away with a busted scapula. Hmmm.

I can't imagine drinking and riding off road. Except for Barbie Camp. Tequila shots as the morning pre-ride energy source. *hic*

Ok - old lady was a little inflammatory, sorry. Maybe i'm just rationalizing my problem . But probably not since 99.9% of the time I ride (and do everything else) sober. But once in a while, in a party atmosphere, it's fun to tie one on & ride.

    Passion is lame.....

....but beer and riding is not! Down here in the good ol OC we're pretty fond of rides that involve beer, pizza, pinatas, and disco. And hawaiian shirts. Margaritas too. Sometimes, when we're super lucky, Poacher brings a bunch of homemade caramel:-)

Ewww beer drining look out!!!! I got spanked a could of times (drunk & zooted) and endo'd over the bars. So now its either drink and ride or smoke and ride, but not both.
Drinking and SS go together, less thought involved about gear selection and the like, just pedal and puke!!
