    Crank question....

I need a new crankset. For many years I've been riding older XTs, Middleburns, and Raceface cranks. All on splined BBs. All have been great, but now I'm looking at SS frames where I need an external type BB, and these older BBs designs are not compatible with a Niner EBB - which is what I'll likely get , a One 9.

So, I'm looking at a 180 Stylo SS crank and maybe a Rotor front ring.

    Are the Stylo's good stuff?

Looks like they can be picked up cheap used. Have there been any upgrades to the 1.1 model over the past few years?

Also, do Niner frame BBs accommodate a Bushnell or Carver EBB?

stylo cranks are great, you won't go wrong.

as far as using a bushnell or carver ebb on the one9? no. not so much.

i've used both in my one9 without much success. the reason is that the bb shell is relieved, thus there is very, very little material for either of those to be able to expand against within the shell. only a thin strip at either edge as you can see...

    Thanks.

Yep, now I see how the BB is whittled away at the center.

Funny, just today I came across the Highball, which looks like a good option, and has a standard BB. All the while looking and I hadn't considered it till today.
