    Converting Scalpel to SS?

I am helping a friend convert a 3 year old Cannondale Scalpel to SS. I am concerned with which chain tensioner to use due to the small suspension movement of the rearend. My plan was to use a singlator because it has a spring to maintain tension when the suspension is moving. Will this be an issue? Thanks.

    use a deraileur

If there is any chain growth as the suspension cycles you need a tensioner that can accomodate that growth. Use either an old deraileur, or the paul Melvin, as both will work in this situation. I converted a trek fuel with an old DX short cage deraileur, and it worked fine. Have fun and post pics when you finish it!
