Converting a 27 speed to SS.

Zach(standard235) here again with another question.

Seeing as I only ride urban, I was looking to see how I would go about switching to SS from 27 speed.

If it is a lot of work, then count me out.

If it is easy, then woohoo.

So, how should I go about doing this?

EDIT: This is also for a FS bike. Would that be a bright idea?

I have never heard of a SS FS bike before.

Ill chime in cause no one else has. The problem with a SS FS is keeping the chain tensioned as the rear triangle goes through its motion. And none of the conversion tensioners have enough spring something or other(im not sure if its a spring tenstion issue or a spring range issue(like how much variation it can handle)).
So maybe go with a single chain ring up front with a retention system like whats available from e13 and keep your gears in the back.

So it sounds like it probably wouldnt be worth it for you, get a HT and its easy. I did a conversion on a coworkers bike in about and hour and a half.
