    Prior to my riding with singlespeeders. I thought pretty much the way that guy does. I'd wager a good number of folks that frequent this forum did to.

    Luckily, while I was still pushing gears, I started riding with some nice ss folks that were willing to put up with my stupid questions and misconceptions. Hell, prior to meeting them I'd never even seen a singlespeed mtb before. Thankfully they never called me a "douche" (at least not to my face) or I might still be among the ranks of the unenlightened.
