Cheap place to get SS hub spacers?

Call me weird but I think spending $20 on a 8 pieces of cut aluminum tubing is a bit much. Don't you? I remember paying 50 cents for each ring at my LBS a while back. Last I checked they didn't have any. Anyone know where I can find some on the cheap? I need enough for 2 bikes.

If you want super cheap just use PVC pipe. It's ghetto but it works.

I break apart old cassettes and use the spacers. Not pretty but it gets the job done. PVC as mentioned also works if you are bearish on old cassettes.

I've done this. Find a metal spacer for against the lockring.

yes, but also more expensive. not sure why.

i usually go to my LBS's recycle bin and take all the cassettes that i can, if i'm lucky there are BB spacers too and cassette lockrings. BB spacers are nicer (harder plastic) material and have lower profile.
everything sucks but my vacuum cleaner.

Your local bike collective/co-op should have all the cassettes and BB spacers you could ever want, free too.

I also use old cassettes' spacers and 40 mm PVC piping.
