    Changing SS freehubs

I recently picked up a rigid SS for a kick around bike and love it. I am riding it just as much as my FS bike with GEARS.

But any way, The bike came with a bolt on free hub and I would like to change it to change the gearing. The free hub on it right now is an 18 tooth White Industries and I would like to put on a Shimano 16 tooth hub (also came with the bike). I bought the Pedros four prong free-hub remover and It doesn't fit in My WI hub although it fits perfectly in the shimano hub. The tool seems just too small. What tool would I need to get inorder to pull off the WI hub? Thanks for your help.

by free hub do you mean freewheel?

youll need a white industries tool to get the wi freehweel off. but if i were you id go up teeth in the front rather than down in the back because the wi is leaps and bounds ahead of the shimano. imo.

You do not need the WI tool to remove their freewheels. I have the Park tool and it works fine. The WI tool is only for removing a freewheel from an eccentric hub.
