Chains, chainrings, cogs... Sizing and such

I have a truvativ stylo crankset that came on my second-hand SASS. I got a surly cog to change the ratio, but also wanted to replace the chain. I've come to find that the truvativ chainring is spaced for a 1/8" chain, while the surly cog is spaced for a 3/32" chain. With a 1/8 chain on there, that seem fine, but with a 3/32 chain, there is binding/ slippage up front. Can I run a 1/8 chain on that surly cog without issues? If not, anyone know where I cane get a newer chainring in a 3/32 to fit that truvativ crank? Not looking to drop loots as I know a crankset will likely be a suggestion from many.

    Thanks!

    You're okay running a 1/8" chain on a 3/32" cog.
