    chainring ramps (reversal)

i have heard of people on this board turning chainrings around to reduce the effects of the ramps for a SS. i'm looking for a temporary solution before i find my ideal gear ratio. does that really work for keeping the chain on the ring?

    in short, yes

Yes, it will work. If you have a method of tensioning the chain, this trick works fairly well. I wouldn't say it helps keep the chain on, but it does reduce the chance of it being thrown while bouncing down the trail. Hope this helps.
