    chainguard

Are all chainguards made equal? Can someone recommend me a 5 bolt chainguard that'll fit on a Race Face Next LP crank, either 32 or 34 tooth

I'm not really after anything fancy, but something relatively light and not too expensive.

    Cheers.

    Spot!

I think the Spot chaingaurd would be your best option. It is thinner than most of the other gaurds, which were designed more for freeride applications, and are pretty tough and heavy. The Spot gaurd is thinner, is available in various sizes, and looks great, at least on a black crank! If you are looking for a gaurd to cover a 32 tooth ring I will assume you are looking for a compact 94mm BCD ring, which they make in 32 or 34 tooth versions. They are available at all the usual mail order places, Webcyclery, Bikeman, and Speedgoat, but I think the cheapest is Universal Cycles.

I like the Raceface and the Salsa. They're relatively light AND bash-able.
