    chain help please

I'm building up my first single speed and I am down to the last few parts. I am running HBC front and rear cogs. Can I just use a regular old 8,9,10 speed 3/32 chain? Any and all info is greatly appreciated. Many cheers!

Depends. If you specified the HbC bits to be 3/32, then yes. If you specified that they be 1/8, then no.

Go with an 8 speed sram chain. 850, 870 or 890. 9 and 10 speeds are expensive and don't last very long.

I built up my first SS a year ago with a scram 8 or 9 speed chain. It just broke today on a hard climb. I have later learned that KMC makes a 3/32 SS chain which appears to be much stronger.

It mounted up fine and although I'm sure its more heavy then the scram I think it will not fail as easily.
