Which carbon 1 1/8" bars for SS?

5'8" so don't need super wide bars. Would like carbon to keep some, if any, vibes down. Want 1 1/8" hoping it will be a little less flexy for SS. Does someone make such a bar that has ~8+ degrees of sweep?

Am i asking for too much?

    Hey Tom,
FWIW, I have a pair of Easton Monkeylites just sitting around collecting dust. They're on the narrower side, like 24.5 inches, I think. Can't remember what the sweep is, but they're pretty typical XC risers. Yours if interested, or at the very least you could try them out. Let me know...

Cool deal. I'll keep that in mind. I think i'm still 1 month away from have a bike in riding condition.

I found that Salsa makes such a carbon bar, but only in 25.4mm. It is 11degree sweep, and 26" wide.
I don't even know how wide i need. I know it is more than 21"

what do you mean, 11/8"? do you mean oversize as in 31.8mm (1.25")?

in any event, it depends on what you want. did you want flat or riser?

I only run riser bars so if flat i am of no help.

    cheers

Oops, you're right. 31.8mm. I was thinking that was 1 1'8", but of course it is 1 1/4".

Yes, flat bar, since this is for a 29er.

    Thanks for the catch Fo.

I just picked up a FSA K-Force DH, 31.8, 1.5" rise, 8deg sweep, 710mm. I wasn't sold on the carbon thing so i wanted something a little bit stronger...pretty sweet so far.

Dang it just noticed you wanted flat bars, they make a k-force flat bar as well, but it is a xc bar, 31.8, 6deg, 610mm.

Just a couple tid bits for ya

i am a riser bar guy......for 660mm length i love the Truvativ Team OS Carbon Riser and also run FSA K Force DH bars which are killer.....can be cut down but none if this helps since you want flat bars.

I switched from the monkey lite to a flat Answer hyperlight. IM liking the bar but might go with the salsa 11 deg sweep if they ever produce them. Until I totally figure out my stem length IM using a shim on the 25.4 bar, 31.8 stem.
