    my first answer!!!
yes itīs possible. due to the need of a chain tensioner e.g. paul, rohloff, itīs no prob to make a ss out of it.

It's easy using a chain tensioner such as the Singleator or something. My team mate and I have done it with our Scalpels many times. He ran one of his all year that way. I also carry a stack of spacers and single cogs in case I decide to run SS at the last minute using the derailleur as the tensioner. Of course, I'm not allowed to shift in the front in those cases. http://racecannondale.com/

Just make sure the chain doesn't get too tight or too loose at either end of the wheel's travel.

Kona's "A" would work better for singlespeed.

    Yup!

Just like everyone else mentioned, easy to convert to a SS uising a tensioner. I called Cannondale on this last year to see if possible to use without a tensioner......not possible given the amount of flex in the stays.
