Can a Single Speed cause a Hernia??

Just curious if anyone thinks the extra pressure caused by pedaling a single speed can cause a hernia?? Just had double hernia surgery and was wondering if my single speed caused it?? Anyone with the same problem?

    Not a doctor

But I think you would be more likely to cause it during a crash than while pedaling. Maybe it's just the people I know who have had hernias, but it was always a result of something they didn't intend to do.
Well, it was a good try.

You already had a weakness in the fascia. Riding a bike wont increase abdominal pressure to the point of causing a hernia.
