    Bonnelli this weekend?

I know a lot of you from SoCal are headed to the Spring SoCal SS Summit this weekend, but is anyone racing Bonnelli Park this Saturday? I'm thinking of entering but haven't ridden there before and was wondering about the course. Is it rocky, steep climbs, singletrack, etc....I mainly ride Aliso/Woods and am trying to get a feel of what to expect.

    Thanks

    Bonelli course

The course at Bonelli is a pretty fun course. Each lap is about 8 miles and goes around the lake.
The course is mostly rolling with some short, but steep climbs mostly. It has about everything, flats, some technical decents with alot of loose rock and decomposed granite. With about a mile to go in each lap there is a a climb about 3/4-1 mile long that is pretty steep.
    I would run a 34x18, or if you can spin, a 34x19.
The best tire for the conditions is a WTB MuntanoRaptor 2.4, IMO...

    Good Luck!

I was planning on racing there, but I think Im going to pass and race the AM-Cup instead....just not feeling that good the last few weeks.

Wow, sounds like you're pushing a pretty big gear!! I normally run a 32x18 to make some of the long, steep climbs at Aliso. Wonder if I should go with a 17t now.

Hope to see some of you at Bonelli or at The Path ride the following Sunday!

    Missed it. How was it?

Was planning to race at Bonelli and due to a f-up on my part I missed it.

Calstate XC races are *always* on Sundays so it never occurred to me to double-check the schedule. Logged on yesterday about noon to check the start-times and discovered my start time was an hour prior.

Since when did they start having races on Saturday?

    WTF?

So I'm pretty much outta the running for the calstate series now. Having missed that one, and Firestone 'cause I was in Mammoth the weekend of Firestone.
