    Ouch

I'm amazed that you had the time or the where-with-all to snap some pics.

    there went my lunch

that's gruesome. I did the same thing a couple years ago cleaning the chain on my steamroller but I didn't completely sever the tip just rippped through the nail to the bone. ho-lee crap that hurt.

Nasty. I once sliced the end off my finger while chopping up chillis. It had a little piece of nail attached, pretty gruesome. Most of the missing finger part grew back, kinda like a lizard

That has got to hurt. I had a friend lose a finger down to the first knuckle when it got cought in a car engine belt.

Here's a tip (pun intended): I take the chain off my fixie (when I had one) to clean just for that reason.

    Necklace

In northern North Dakota, wearing a threaded tip of a finger around your neck is a symbol of machissmo.

Good thing you didn't catch the foreskin. If that had happened, you really wouldn't have had taken pictures...just imagine, a foreskin on the bloody rag, some long pubes wrapped around the cog...AY!

That's just not right....on the otherhand that finger tip looked like a little gnome hat sittin there.

How is the newly expanded family doing?

lastly, that's awesome! I don't mean that at your expense, but that is some crazy footage man. You have to post that to the pic of the week, it'll win hands down!

So, did the hospital give you the finger

...tip back as a souvenir? Or did they try to reattach it? The second to last picture looks kinda cute...your little finger tip peeking through a greased up rag...like it's playing hide and seek.

I'm in the process of "fixing" up my SS road bike and will heed gpsser's removal of the chain tip when cleaning the bike!!

    Damn!
A good friend will come bail you out of jail.
But a true friend will be sitting next to you saying
    "Damn... we fcuked up!"

    In Eastern North Dakota

We throw smack at cheeseheads for comments like that. Wait, I mean we smack comments that throw cheese at heads. I mean we comment on cheesy smack and throw up. Aw shucks.

You should show up at Levis Trow next month for a ride - I'll be on the way back from Chi-town via Madison en route to home on June 12. Could be fun.

You tell 'em Dij. I might have some headcheese I can donate to the cause. I think I have to go remove my "Fixie Bite" post from a few weeks ago...as it was just a fixie nibble compared to that "Fixie Massacre." I was having those kind of thoughts when I was riding to class on the fixie wearing sandals earlier today, just not Smrt. Hey Dij, Brian and I were talking today, and we might try a BBQ after the Sun ride in the next couple of weeks, some possible night riding too...just so you know-spread the word.
