Very cool... similar to the Strong's Overlander paint, they don't produce it anymore...

That's really nice. Any details of how you did the paint and stencils?

... and if we just ... Thanks!

Thanks for all the compliments, I thought you guys would dig it. I am really pleased with how it turned out.

It weighs around 19 1/2 -20 pounds... haven't weighed this configuration with the Crossmax wheels.

Paint is actually branded as CAMOFLAGE by Rustoleum. Comes in a range of low-key colors, dries instantly and covers really well. I don't know how durable it will be, but even with chips and scratches it can't look worse than it did before... =)

I cut the stencils out of regular ink-jet paper and used a LIGHT coating of spraymount to put them on once the frame was green. Took about 3 hours to cut the stencils and mask the frame, and about 60 seconds to paint the white.

Never rattle-canned a bike before, because I don't like the low-end ghetto look, but just by adding the stencils and going with the WW2 Army theme, I like it a lot.

    Heh.

I think my KONA with stenciled logos was acting on my subconscious when I got the idea... =)

Plus I love the flat gray of Chuky's Bianchi and a well worn Unit.

heh. I said "well worn Unit..."

    Couple of questions about paint?

What did you do to prep the frame before painting? Stripping, Sanding, etc.

And can you give us a report on how the paint in holding up after a few rides?

    Thanks.
