    Bianchi rear hub question

I recently bought an 05 SASS with a Bianchi rear hub and I want to change the 16 t cog to an 18. I went and bought an 18t bmx freewheel and much to my surprise it won't work. The hub has a small carrier and some sort of lockring. Is it removable? If so what tool?

That looks like the lock ring that is on my wife's Bianchi W.U.S.S. It has a WTB SS rear hub. Yes it is removable. I have a Pedro's wrench for 6 notch Shimano bottom brackets and it fits the lock ring perfectly. You will need a chain whip also just like removing a cassette. You need a SS rear cog like a Surly, King, Endless or some other single speed specific cog. I used a Surly cog on my wife's bike and I had to adjust the chain line a little.
I'm not very smart, but I can lift heavy things

Thanks. The shimano BB tool that came with my 760's did the trick!
