    Belt drive advise

I have recently finished a single speed project that uses a Gates Carbon drive belt setup.
My question is, has anyone out there experienced any skipping or slippage problems.

I have tightened everything up to recommended specification, but when I really put some power into pedaling, something is making a short loud clunking noise. I back off as soon as this happens, and stop to inspect the drive, but everything seems in order.

I figure the noise is either the belt slipping, which seems hard to believe as the teeth are over 1/4" deep, or my freehub is playing up (it worked fine on my other SS)

The belt line is dead straight, so it is not the belt jumping off to the side, and whilst I am pretty fit, I am only a flyweight at 150lb, so I dont think I am overpowering the setup.

    Anyone got any ideas?

My friend has the same issue on his new Spot. He was recommended to further tighten the belt. He has yet to find the perfect "spot" (no punt intended). When too tight, the belt and his crank are complaining. When too loose, it skips with a loud popping noise.

Exact same issue was recently covered in depth. Do a search.

P.S. Bottom line: belt is slipping & needs tightening.
