    BB help

Just picked up a new crankset a Shimano M952. Stripped the rings off (BTW anyone looking for a set of new rings for a XTR crankset?) and going to run it with a single Boone cog on the front. What length BB do I need to achieve that magical 52mm chainline?

Only options I have seen are a 112.5mm BB or 116mm BB.

112mm BB will give you 47.5mm center chainring. 116mm will give you 50mm center chainring. Outter will be 5mm further out, so 112mm spindle in outter position should get you where you want to be. Info from our good friend Mr. Brown:

Unfortunately, that does not quite work when using a spiderless chainring (Boone). I believe I am using the 112mm spindle, but not sure. BUT, I am using a SS cassette hub, so I have some adjustment in back. Maybe someone else will know the exact measurement, but your only BB choices are the 112 and 116 XTR units and the Ultegra triple 118mm unit. Good luck!
