    Axle switch question

I have sliding dropouts on my SS. My LBS has a Bontrager Race SS rear wheel on sale. Would these be the skewers I would need to use these wheels?

What kind of axle is in the rear wheel?

And what do you mean by "sliding dropouts?"

These are sliding dropouts...and regular QR skewters work just fine with these.

These are horizontal dropouts or track ends and you'll need something bolt-on or a chain tug for these.

My bad. i have the horizontal dropouts. I have solid axle currently. So can I use the through axle with the bolts? I have a lot to learn in this area. Thanks for the lesson!

If you've got a solid axle already, you don't need to change anything...just bolt the wheel in the drops and go.

The skewers you posted won't work with a solid axle.

As far as I know, you can't change the axles in the Bontrager hubs...but you don't need to.
