Anyone use a stairstepper for training?

I have an opportunity to join a gym, free. Haven't ridden my ss in a while, just the fs. Wondering if any of you have used a stairstepper to train on and/or to get back into shape.

Seems like the motion is the same, stand up and mash
I wouldn't even get my hair cut except it's near the liquor store and it seems like my eyebrows need trimming now and then.

From time to time I use the step machine at the gym. I do different workouts:

    - Single steps (slow and fast)
    - Skip Steps (slow and fast)
    - Turn to each side and do crossovers up the steps (works inner and outer hips and thighs)

You can also throw in knee raises as you go along to stretch out and work different muscles.

It's a nice change of pace from just doing squats or leg presses

Stair stepper is much better than any eliptical type machine.

I do step-downs from a step in my house. I use the "200 Squats App." I do an entire set on one leg, then switch. I step up on the first step--facing the steps, and just step down off that step and back. I feel like this mimics pedaling closing than just about any other exercise.
