Any ess esser's doing the New Melones race this weekend?

Man, I'd love to do this race. Too bad it's 28 miles- I don't know if my back could take it. Smooth course, but still.

    DaTroglodite- you doin' it?

    Too much driving

Get thee to a carbon seat post. It'll do wonders for the back.

I just spent $100 getting my bike back up to speed from a weekend of riding.

This sport sucks. I'm gonna take up tiddly-winks.

I'll be there.. .and yeah. It's 28 friken miles... last week it was something around 24 miles to race. I use the term 'race' loosely. But wtf... it'll be fun.

I rode the course a couple weeks ago with the rigid SS and it felt fine, I had 2.35 at aroudn 35psi and it was enough to cushin any discomfort.

It was the first time on the SS there and I had forgotten how flat the trail is. I had more troubles with spinning out than climbing so I'm putting a slightly bigger gear on the bike for the race.

Don't forget, come up for the night ride Saturday, campout and you don't have to drive to the race in the morning. Trogs are bringing food....... to the Trog To Do

She passed my right as I finished fixing my flat on the third lap, I passed her back but than my rear was going flat on the fourth lap and I had to ride gingerly since I was scared of rolling the tire. I pulled over to add c02 and she passed me again. I passed her back again and finished just a bit ahead of her. I think we were both pretty much on cruise control for the fourth lap since neither of us had anyone close to us.

I apologized afterward for being on and off the bike and kept having to pass her. She was very nice about it and encouraging, she was just hoping she didn't flat since she had not tube or co2 with her.

I happened to have an issue of 26inch with her pic and a write up. Some guys in our group went and had it signed after the race.

There was a cannondale rider there also, but I don't know who she was.

Speaking of backs.... My back is tore up today. I'm hobbling around class and giving the kids an easy assignment.

Three of us raced sport with our SS mainly because the SS race didn't start until 2pm.

    Thanks George and TROGS

for the heads-up on the race and the hospitality. Saturday night's ride was fun, perfect weather with a "fool moon", good food and great comrades. I am one of the ssers who bailed the 4 laps in favor of the 3 in sport class, it still beat me up. The pics are good too, shows my wife what I was up to all weekend.

Events like this make me go around work on a Monday morning with a big smile on my face, thanks again.
