    another diy paint question

    nearing completion of my fixed gear project
    2 coats primer 4 coats color
    sanded between coats
    as color is gloss, do i need to clear coat?
    if so, do i need to sand first?
    if i sand will clear coat restore gloss to color?

    yeah for clearcoat

    I would say you should do clearcoat, it will the paint job more durable, and according to my friend, make the paint appear "deeper".
    You should sand before the clear coat, but its not really sanding (I don't know what you've been using). You should use something like fine rubbing compound (messy) or fine fibertex (like scotchbrite pads). The clearcoat should restore the shine.
