    29r 1x1

so i had the afternoon free, a buncha spare parts, and some beer sittin around. put them all together and this is what i came up with.

left side drive fixie with 29r wheels. and no toe overlap! front is a 28mm wtb dualduty all mountain with a 2.35 rampage and rear is a salsa delgado 30mm with a 2.0 spec captain. both tires have about 5-8mm of clearance.

I like the concept, but it does need some refinement such as a front brake and matching grips.

I think the rotor is for cutting through wind. It keeps the front wheel stable on long descents. Dont know if i'd run the bar upside down though. With the left side drive you should get a surly sticker that reads backward and put it on your frame so people think you're riding a reverse image of yourself.

    Nice build.

Someone should get a custom builder to put disc mounts on the right side of a frame and fork and build up an entirely opposite bike - disc brakes on the right, drivetrain on the left.
Someone needs to make a rear hub with 6 bolt disc on both sides, for fixie (Tomicog, etc) with a disc brake, or a bolt on cog on both sides.

everyone else, i know the bars are ghey. i promise ill either flip them over or maybe even put some dirt drops on it. and a front brake. the beer just ran out before the build was done.

Just a SS. Did the fixed xc thing but after 3 crashes i declined.
The higher BB is a disadvantage but is only notticabel in bank corners. The pro is that the front isn`t that hihg like a 29er.

I had my 1x1 set up for a summer 700c with a 35c 'cross tire rear, and a 45mm Bonty Jones front on Delgado Discs. Made for a nice Monstercross Fixie. Not sure I would like it with anything bigger.

Bell's are pretty commonplace on singlespeeds. I use mine to get people out of the way on steep climbs. Some DH guys run them too.
