    29er wheel with 1x1 fork?

Anyone tried running a 29er front wheel in a Surly 1x1 rigid fork? I am playing with the idea of trying out the 96er setup, just wondering if anyone has made it work? pics would be great as well as what wheel and tire you used. It would have to be disc obviously. Thanks.

Update: the Paul Motobmx brake will not work on 29 w/26 fork.

Actually, quite a few ride 29" front and back on their disc 1x1's.

I ran my 1x1 with 29" wheels front & rear for several months. Handling was slightly affected, but it wasn't too bad.

With a 2.2" wheel in the rear, the axel was all the way at the back of the dropouts. I was able to run a 2.3" ExiWolf up front, but clearance was VERY tight. Only about 3-5 mm between the tire and the crown.

There was a thread on this along with pictures of tire clearance and such about 6 months ago on the 29er board if you feel like doing some searching.

Here is a 1x1 fork I don't use anymore. It has the brake studs moved up to accommodate a 29er rim and has more than enough clearance for a Moto Raptor.

Let us know how it goes if you try it. I might be tempted to try it myself if it works out well for you.
