    27.2 seatpost in 27.0 frame?

Will I ruin my frame or seatpost?? can I do you think the difference is small enought so that it won't matter?

If it didn't matter they'd both be 27mm. I'm sure with enough persuasion you could get it in there. I don't know about getting it out. How much do you like the frame?

But it was on the cheap... $40 shipped from ebay!

So you saved enough to get the right diameter post...

    The odds are:

It's highly unlikely that you will be able to get it to insert beyond the bottom of the slot in the seat tube... If it fits, then use it.

If a 27.2 post fits smoothly in the frame, it is preferrable to use that diameter over a loose-fitting 27.0. Besides, it's a used bike. The previous owner could easily have purchased the wrong size. I purchased a used frame one time and the guy had a 26.8 post clamped down in a 27.2mm bore seat tube.
