    26er gearing in fruita

    hi

we're doing fruita next week for the first time and i had a quick gearing question. i live in salt lake and primarily ride a 26" in local canyons and park city at 34x20 which is a good compromise out here; however, i heard fruita is flatter and was considering either 32 or 34x17 free or 34x16 or 17 fixed. anyone who lives there or rides there a bit have any feedback? 36x20 free in moab (not ridden too many of the trails) was fine and saw lotsa locals running 2:1. anyway, any info would be greatly appreciated.

    thanks

    Hope

not that anybody's been looking or chomping at the bit to give out advice, but go ahead and disregard the original post as i contacted ote in fruita and they were quite helpful with both gearing and trail info. if anybody ever has the desire to go down there, these guys are very cool and will address all of your questions no matter how simple.

    thanks,

    marc

Yep, the OTE staff is friendly and full of good info.

As far as gearing, I'm a "run what ya brung" type of guy and stick with the same gear no matter where I go.
